ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to compare the importance of caring behavior perceived by nurses working in elderly hospitals and by elderly patients. The subjects of this study were 131 elderly patients and 131 nurses working in 10 geriatric hospitals (with more than 30 beds each) in Busan Metropolitan City, Korea. The data were collected using the Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI). From the results of the study, it was shown that the importance of care behavior was higher in nurses than in patients, and that the factor of "professional knowledge" was the most important factor in both groups in terms of importance by factor. However, it was found that there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of importance by item and importance in the order.
